Tape green streamers along the edge of a table to give it a grass skirt look.
Collect seashells from the beach, if you have one near by, to put one at each
place setting.
Pick up some plastic pink flamingos to brighten up the lawn.
Create your own ocean by cutting strips out of blue plastic tablecloths of
varying shades. Secure each end of the strips to trees outside, a hallway
passage, or from the ceiling, so the tablecloths hang loosely. Then position a
fan to lightly blow on them, creating your very own billowing ocean.
Decorate the little ones with grass skirts and Hawaiian bandannas. You can
staple green streamers around a 2" wide ribbon to create grass skirts and
for the boys, cut Hawaiian fabric into triangles to form bandannas. Make sure
the longest side is long enough to go around the child's head (approximately
24"-30", depending on the age).

Cut circles with scalloped edges out of colored tissue paper, have a grown up
cut holes in the center of the circles with a small craft knife. Slightly
crumple up the paper and then let the kids string through the flowers to make
their own leis.
Out of Styrofoam purchased at craft stores cut out shapes to resemble
surfboards, including the surfboard's keel. Then supply each guest with paints,
stickers and markers to create their own surfboards.

Have guests come up three at a time to swing hula-hoops around their hips. The
one who hula-hoops the longest goes onto the next round, until you have the top
three finalists to battle it out for the title of "Hula Hoop Kahuna"
and win a prize.
Each player is first blindfolded, and then guided by the crowd to see how low
they have to go before they can get under the limbo stick. Watch your heads!
Find a wonderful Hawaiian CD/Album that will add to ambiance and have the kids
do their best interpretation of the Hula. The winner gets a prize.

Sunset memories: Tape together large pieces of poster board on which your kids
can paint out a sunset. This becomes a lovely backdrop for snapping instant
pictures for guests to take home. You may want to find a photo of a sunset to
have as a guide.
