Chocolate Ice Cream Pie
A Lovely "Do-Ahead" Dessert for a Special Occasion
Ingredients List
- 1/4 cup - Domino® Granulated Sugar
- 1 1/2 cups - almonds, blanched, toasted and ground
- 1/3 cup - butter (2/3 stick)
- 1 oz. - semisweet chocolate (1 square)
- 1 qt. - chocolate ice cream, slightly softened
- Creamy Chocolate Sauce
- whipped cream, sweetened (optional)
- 1/2 cup - almonds, sliced and toasted
Creamy Chocolate Sauce
- 1/3 cup - Domino® Confectioners Sugar
- 2 oz. - semisweet chocolate (2 squares)
- 1/3 cup - whipping cream
- 1 tbsp. - rum
Instructions
Lightly grease 9-inch pie pan. In medium bowl combine sugar and ground almonds. Stir butter and chocolate into nut mixture. Pat mixture into pie pan. Chill 1 hour or until set. Spread chocolate ice cream in crust. Freeze until serving time. Top with Creamy Chocolate Sauce, sweetened whipped cream and sliced almonds.
Creamy Chocolate Sauce
In top of double boiler over simmering water, heat all ingredients, stirring occasionally, until melted and smooth. Serve warm. Makes 1/2 cup
