Christmas Coffee

Ingredients List

Christmas Coffee
  • 2/3 cup - Domino® Granulated Sugar
  • 1/3 cup - unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoons - instant espresso powder or instant dark roast coffee granules
  • 1/2 teaspoon - cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup - water
  • Whipped cream, if desired
  • Chocolate sprinkles or chocolate curls

Instructions

To prepare syrup:
Combine dry ingredients with 1/2 cup water in medium saucepan; mix well. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils; boil 1 minute, stirring frequently.

To prepare coffee:
Place 1 tablespoon chocolate-cinnamon-coffee syrup in cup; fill with 3/4 cup boiling water. Stir to mix. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles or chocolate curls. Store syrup in refrigerator.

For large mugs of coffee, use about 1 1/2 tablespoons syrup and 1 1/4 cups boiling water per mug.

Makes 1 cup of syrup, 16 (6 oz) servings, or about 10 (10 oz) servings.

For a crowd:
Brew a 10-cup pot of coffee. Stir together, in a small saucepan, 1/2 cup Domino® Granulated Sugar, 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/3 cup of water. Over medium heat, boil for 1 minute, stirring frequently. Add to coffee, stir and serve immediately. Stir again, if served later. Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles or chocolate curls.

Quick Tip

For a special hostess gift, tuck coffee mugs in a wicker basket along with a jar of chocolate coffee syrup. Include directions for mixing the coffee.
