Brown Sugar Syrup

The perfect waffle needs the perfect syrup, so why compromise with store-bought? Our Brown Sugar Syrup is a simple one-pot recipe that every true breakfast-lover should try.


about 2 cups


  • 1 (1 lb.) box (approx. 2 1/4 cups) Domino® Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon pure maple extract


Mix brown sugar and water in a 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat and simmer about 3 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in maple extract. Use hot or cold over pancakes, waffles, French toast or ice cream.


If prepared syrup is not all used at once, store remainder in refrigerator for up to two weeks.
