Choco-Bacon Ice Cream Cones

Choco-Bacon Ice Cream Cones

Even creamy ice cream tastes better with the salty crunch of bacon.

12 ice cream cones

  • 1 pound thick cut bacon
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 3 tablespoons Domino® Pourable Brown Sugar

Choco-Bacon Ice Cream

  • 1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips, melted according to package directions
  • 12 sugar cones
  • vanilla ice cream

Preheat oven to 400°F. Line baking sheet with foil.

Arrange bacon in a single layer on prepared sheet. Bake 15 to 20 minutes until cooked, but not crispy.

Mix juice and sugar in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave 30 seconds; set aside.

Remove bacon from oven. Use a pastry brush to coat bacon with sugar mixture. Return bacon to oven for additional
2 to 3 minutes to glaze and crisp. Watch bacon carefully so it does not to overcook.

Remove bacon from oven. Cool 5 minutes. Drain bacon on paper towel-lined platter, then transfer to cutting board.

Roughly chop bacon. Place half of the chopped bacon on a flat dish and the remaining in a bowl; set aside.

Choco-Bacon Ice Cream

Dip the rim of an ice cream cone in melted chocolate.

Roll chocolate-rimmed ice cream cone into chopped bacon from the flat dish. Repeat with remaining cones. Refrigerate to set.

Top each cone with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and top each with some of the remaining chopped bacon from the bowl.
