Chocolate Dessert Cups

Fill up these DIY chocolate cups with the filling of your choice for a versatile and delicious dessert.

  • 6 ounces (6 squares) semisweet chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon shortening
  • 6 medium foil baking cups
  • assorted fresh fruit

Sweetened Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons Domino® Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract



In a small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate and shortening, stirring constantly until smooth. Using pastry brush or small paintbrush, spread chocolate thinly and evenly over inside of each baking cup. Set cups in muffin pan and chill about 15 minutes, or until firm.

After chocolate has hardened, apply another coat of chocolate, then refrigerate until firm. 

Before serving, peel foil from chocolate cups. Fill with sweetened whipped cream and fresh fruit.

Sweetened Whipped Cream

Combine cream, sugar and vanilla in a chilled medium mixing bowl. Beat on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.

Serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to 2 hours.


Cups can also be filled with a variety of fillings such as pudding, mousse or ice cream.
