Firework Marshmallows

Sparks will fly with every bite of these sweet, sugar-dipped red, white and blue kabobs.

YIELDS

about 11 kabobs

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup divided Domino® Granulated Sugar
  • red food coloring gel
  • blue food coloring gel
  • 1 bag large marshmallows or 1 Light as Snow Marshmallows recipe

INSTRUCTIONS

Line cookie sheet with waxed paper.

Divide sugar evenly into two bowls. Place 1 to 2 drops of red food coloring gel in one bowl; blend until evenly tinted, adding more gel as needed to reach desired shade. Repeat with blue gel in second bowl of sugar.

Dip an unused paint brush in water and lightly wet the marshmallow so the sugar will stick. Dip marshmallow in red sugar; shake off excess. Repeat with blue sugar on another marshmallow. Place on cookie sheet to set. Repeat with remaining marshmallows. Remember to leave 1/3 of the marshmallows plain.

To assemble, place red marshmallow on skewer. Follow with a plain marshmallow, then the blue. Tie a silver ribbon around the bottom and place in a festive container.
