YIELDS

6 cups frosting

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup all-vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 (2 lb.) pkg. Domino® Confectioners Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water

INSTRUCTIONS

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, combine first four ingredients. Beat on medium speed until smooth. Reduce speed; add extract and gradually add sugar while mixing. Add water; beat until smooth.

Divide frosting into 1-cup servings. Follow the directions below for flavor variations using frosting plus additional ingredients for immediate use, or store unflavored frosting in 1-cup measurements in an airtight container for later use.

Store in large freezer bag until ready to use. Refrigerate up to 2 weeks, or freeze up to 1 month. Bring to room temperature before using.

One cup of frosting will cover 3 to 6 cupcakes, depending on decorating style.
