Happy Apple Topping
1 cup topping
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 cups apples, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup dried fruit
- 1/4 cup Domino® Pourable Brown Sugar
In large skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat. Stir in apples, lemon juice and nutmeg. Cook, gently stirring occasionally, until apples begin to soften, about 7 minutes. Reduce heat to low; stir in dried fruit and sugar.
Cook, stirring gently, until mixture becomes syrupy, about 2 minutes.
Serve warm as topping for pancakes, waffles, French toast or ice cream.
