Hot Buttered Rum Sauce

Inspired by the buttery winter cocktail, this sauce gives your desserts a warm, comforting touch.


  • 1 cup - firmly packed Domino® Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup - butter or margarine
  • 1/8 teaspoon - salt
  • 1 - (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/3 cup - dark rum
  • 2 teaspoons - vanilla


In medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, salt and sweetened condensed milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. Cook until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.

Stir in rum and vanilla. Pour into jars; cover tightly. Serve warm. Store covered in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.

Makes 2 2/3 cups.
