Miniature Palmiers

Miniature Palmiers

Due to their shape, these easy-to-make pastries are also known as Palm Trees, Elephant Ears or Pig's Ears.

about 3 dozen pastries

  • 1 package (17 1/4 oz.) frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg white, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • Domino® Sugar 'N Cinnamon for sprinkling

Preheat oven to 400°F. Prepare ungreased cookie sheet.

Place pastry sheet on lightly floured board. In small bowl, mix together egg white and water.

Brush one side of each pastry sheet with egg white; sprinkle generously with sugar 'n cinnamon (about 1 tablespoon). Fold in the two opposite sides so they meet in the center. Brush with egg white and sprinkle with sugar 'n cinnamon. Fold sides towards center again to roll up into a cylinder.

With rounded-side up, cut each cylinder into thin slices, about 1/4 inch thick. Arrange on prepared cookie sheet; press out slightly with palm of hand. Lightly brush with egg white; sprinkle with sugar 'n cinnamon.

Bake for 10 minutes, or until edges are brown. Remove from cookie sheet; cool on wire rack. Sprinkle once more with sugar 'n cinnamon.

For easier slicing, chill dough.
