Shamrock Smoothie

This St. Patrick's Day treat yourself to a creamy Shamrock Smoothie with a twist. You might be surprised by its secret ingredient.

INGREDIENTS

Sugar Glitter

  • 1 cup Domino® Granulated Sugar
  • green food coloring

Smoothie

  • 1 avocado, ripened
  • 1/2 cup non-fat. plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 frozen banana, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • 1 cup unsweetened light coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup Domino® Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup ice

INSTRUCTIONS

Sugar Glitter

Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare baking sheet.

In a small bowl, add desired amount of food coloring to sugar; mix well. Transfer sugar to prepared baking sheet.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes; cool completely.

Smoothie

Peel avocado and remove the pit.  

Mix all of the ingredients together in a smoothie maker or blender. Pour into glasses rimmed with green-tinted sugar and serve. 

QUICK TIP

Prepare just before serving so the avocado does not discolor.
