Belgian Waffles

Belgian waffles are a classic breakfast and brunch staple that have become so popular because of their amazing crispy golden exterior with deep pockets for holding syrup and butter. This recipe by blogger Nom Nom Boston makes perfect Belgian waffles that are fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup Domino® Golden Sugar
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 large eggs, separated
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Handful berries
  • To-taste syrup
  • To-taste whipped cream

Prep Time : 15 minutes / Cook Time : 20 minutes / Yields: 6 waffles

Step 1

In a bowl, combine flour, Domino® Golden Sugar and baking powder.

Step 2

In another bowl, lightly beat egg yolks. Add milk, butter and vanilla; mix well. Stir into dry ingredients just until combined. 

Step 3

Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into batter.

Step 4

Bake in a preheated waffle iron until golden brown. 

Step 5

Serve with syrup, whipped cream, and berries.
