Overnight French Toast Casserole

Ingredients

For the casserole

  • 2 loafs Brioche bread
  • 8 large Eggs
  • 1 ¾ cups Whole milk
  • 2 cups Half and half
  • 2 tablespoons Domino® Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg, freshly grated
  • ½ teaspoon Salt

For the brown sugar topping

  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup Domino® Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Pure vanilla extract

Prep Time: 25 minutes / Bake Time: 45 minutes / Yields: 8-10 servings

Step 1

Butter one 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 2

Cut the brioche loaf into slices, about 10 per loaf. Arrange the slices in the dish, overlapping to make space for all of them.

Step 3

In a large bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients for the casserole. Whisk until well combined. Pour mixture over the brioche slices. Make sure all the slices are covered with mixture. Cover and place in the refrigerator overnight.

Step 4

When ready to bake, preheat oven to 325°F. Combine the ingredients for the topping and spread on top of the brioche slices. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve immediately. Sprinkle powdered sugar as decoration.
