Smoky Barbecue Sauce

Use as a basting sauce for chicken, ribs and hamburgers.

YIELDS

2 1/2 cups sauce

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup beer
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2/3 cup Domino® Dark Brown Sugar firmly packed
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons liquid smoke
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper sauce

INSTRUCTIONS

In large saucepan, sauté onion and garlic in vegetable oil until wilted, about 4 minutes. Add remaining ingredients; combine well. Bring to boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
